Sarah Silvester
Design Technician
BDes (Int)
Sarah moved to Whanganui from Auckland in 2003, and found the Dalgleish Architects offices while exploring the city center with her husband on one of their first visits as a newly married couple. She studied at the design school in Unitec, Auckland, majoring in Interior – a course taught by a variety of architects, designers and visual artists which allowed for and encouraged a great deal of creativity and exploration.
She lives with her husband and their three children, ranging from 12 to 16, and knows she is blessed to be able to work while they are at school, and spend time with them when they are not. They are a pet-free family, despite the consistent pleading of their youngest child.
Sarah loves having a creative job where she gets to work with good people. Her favourite part of the process is collaborating with Craig, bringing his rough pencil sketches to life in three dimensions on the computer, and the back and forth conversations and changes that happen throughout. She also enjoys designing and detailing kitchens, laundry’s and other interior joinery. She’s always excited when the chance pops up to model one of Whanganui’s old heritage buildings, and she takes care of the social media and marketing side of the company. She enjoys reading books, writing and playing music, and stays busy renovating their 1940’s home and volunteering at her church. She also loves obsessively taking in any and all Taylor Swift related content with her 2 daughters.
