Te Hā Health Care provides integrated primary health services to the Palmerston North Community.

Te Hā occupies a former light industrial building adapted to this new use. Embodied carbon in the existing concrete and steel structure is maintained through adaptive reuse. Tons of material is kept from landfill.

The site with entrances from both Main Street and Victoria Avenue, sits within an edge condition, where the loose fit of Main Street meets the beginning of a residential area. These two entrances reduce the effective depth of the site, allowing efficient internal circulation from a central reception.

Mana Whenua, Rangitāne, were involved through the of the design process, bestowing the name upon the facility, Te Hā. The breath.
