Kildare

Substantial interior renovation and replanning, alongside subtle exterior work and expansion, has resulted in a bright, open and inviting family home.

Surrounded by green pastures, Kildare required substantial interior renovation and replanning, alongside subtle exterior work that needed to blend in with the rest of the home.

The replacement of the dark, veneer central block of kitchen and laundry provided an opportunity for a new open plan living, dining and kitchen space with a disguised laundry via the kitchen space. Essential structural elements have been hidden in order to provide an easy flow from one space to the next. The main bedroom suite was also expanded to provide more storage and an extra bathroom, alongside a bay window for views and relaxation.

The exterior doors and verandah cover leading out to the pool area were not performing as they needed to, and the junction of roofing to doors and windows required replacement. New doors and windows in the style of the existing, alongside a new verandah roof, provide a practical solution yet look as though they have always been with the house.

The result is a bright and inviting family home, regularly enjoyed by the owners for gathering their family, friends and pets.
